The Romance Bookie

So here I am again! These past few days have been crazy! Flights canceled, due to snow, planning for Christmas, cookie decorating, and of course finding the time to read :).  So I was originally reading Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Trader, but to be honest I got bored.  I was only reading it because I wanted to compare it to the movie; well, I just couldn't take it anymore! I mean, don't get me wrong, the story is great! But the overall style of writing by CS Lewis for me gets a little boring, because it is in that old style English. Not quite Shakespeare, but not at all modern...lets just say...in between. Anyway...I finally put down Narnia and picked up a book that I have wanted to read for a while .  The Lucky One   by Nicholas Sparks.  It took me a little over a week to read, but only because I had to find the time to read; otherwise I probabl wouldn't have been able to put it down! I read this great book a couple of years ago, and I loved it so much.  It was called Jemima J . and it is by Jane Green.  The book was so memorable, that I still recommend it to my friends everytime one of them asks me for a great read.  The novel is about a woman named Jemima, who lives in England and is overweight, and always being pushed around by the roommates and even her friends.  She finally gets tired of it, especially after one of her friends, a really cute guy, who she also happens to be in love with, moves away to do a different job; so she decides to change. Along the way she starts a relationship over the internet with a hot guy from California, pretending to be a skinny hot girl.  And she ends up visiting him in California.  Her extraordinary change along the way is what really made the story interesting to me. There is a great twist at the end, which you should definitely find out about! So if you have some time, during the holidays pick up this great romance book!

Hello, I'm the Romance Bookie.  This is my first entry, so I thought I would start with a few great authors if you are looking for nice read over the Holidays.  Of course they are all romance books :).  My top five Romance Authors: 1. Meg Cabot 2. Nicholas Sparks 3. Simone Elkeles 4. Nora Roberts 5. Sarah Dessen Meg Cabot: She is probably my all time favorite author, just because everytime she releases a new book, they always have the comedy, suspense, and of course romance.  I love reading her blog on her website (megcabot.com) because she writes them just like her books.  A few of my favorites by her are: The Heather Wells Series (which are three novels, the first being: Size 12 is Not Fat , the second: Size 14 is Not Fat Either , and the third: Big Boned ).  This three novels are really good.  They are a mystery series, for the young adult genre.  They have romance, and a really great story in each one. Nicholas Sparks: Of course Nicholas Sparks is the ROMANCE author.
